Troop 4’s Ryan Stokes honored at Eagle Scout ceremony

Piedmont High School senior and Troop 4 Scout Ryan Stokes became the Troop’s newest Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor ceremony on May 7 in the Beach Elementary auditorium. This is the highest rank for a uniformed Scout. Friends and family celebrated the occasion and Mayor Jen Cavenaugh delivered remarks.

For his Eagle Scout project, Stokes built a bike maintenance station for the Friends of Joaquin Miller Park. The station is made of pressure-treated lumber and includes places to mount a bike with tools attached to the side –secured to prevent theft. The station is planned to be the first part of a designated bike stop with information kiosk and a bike bell station. Stokes’s interest in mountain biking emerged during COVID as a healthy way to connect with his friends and nature.

  1. That is not a gray haired lady. That is a lady with a few gray hairs, in a very proud and well-deserved moment. Way to go Stokes!
