Max Schleuning and Bodhi Bloemker each shot 81 at the West Alameda County Conference boys golf tournament at Metropolitan Golf Links on May 1. Those scores tied for fifth overall and earned the players berths in the North Coast Section championships on May 8.
Overall, the Highlanders shot 454, good for fourth place in the WACC.
Alameda’s Kailer Stone shot a terrific 66 to win the individual title. The Hornets also won the team title with a score of 394, thanks to the rest of the team all shooing in the 80s. Castro Valley was second at 412, with Bishop O’Dowd third at 434.
Patrick Brayer had an 89 for Piedmont. Dan Malecki shot 101, with Evan Manolis next at 102 and Owen Grippando at 104. Each team scores its top five players.
The Highlanders failed to make the NCS tournament as a team.
The NCS Division 2 championship is scheduled for a shotgun start at 8 a.m. at Rooster Run Golf Course in Petaluma.
Piedmont finished the season with a 10-4 record.
