Dr. Hawn speaks with former PEF director Grier Graff

Piedmont Unified School District and Piedmont Education Foundation leaders joined school community members in welcoming new Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hawn to Piedmont at an informal “meet and greet” in the Alan Harvey Theater lobby on Monday, May 8. Contributors to the event, which attracted dozens of parents, school leaders and staff, included all six parent clubs.

School Board President Veronica Anderson Thigpen introduced Hawn, and PEF President Amelie Kappes followed with words of welcome: “Dr. Hawn joins us at an exciting time in the life of our school district, and we are thrilled to have her as a part of our team. We have a long-standing partnership with Piedmont Unified School District, and we are committed to working closely with Dr. Hawn and her team to ensure that every student in our district has access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”

Dr. Hawn officially begins her tenure on July 1.
