The Yukon had been reported stolen from San Pablo.

A records check on the suspect found him on probation in Alameda County for domestic violence and that he two outstanding warrants out of Contra Costa County, said Piedmont Police Capt. Chris Monahan.

The vehicle was searched and a shaved broken scissor was found, used as a key according to Monahan, and an air wedge tool, which can be used to break into vehicles. The suspect was booked for possession of the stolen vehicle, probation violations, fake license plates, possession of burglary tools, possession of suspected methamphetamine, and the two out of county warrants.

On April 11, a 911 call came in regarding an attempted auto burglary on Kingston Avenue. Piedmont police found the suspect, described as a Black male with a blue jacket and plaid sweats, at the intersection of Kingston and Linda avenues, according to Monahan.
