Pool construction timeline unaffected by bad weather

In its latest pool construction update on March 23, the city says recent storms have not disrupted the construction timeline. Demolition work at the pool site began in late February. The former pools, basketball courts, carriage house, and pool shed are all now gone. Crews are currently working on excavation, digging out the space where the new pools will go and clearing out the site.

On Thursday construction crews started removing sidewalk trees along the community pool construction site. All trees adjacent to the pool on Magnolia Avenue between the Recreation Department Building and Bonita Avenue will be removed, as well as one tree on Bonita. This work is part of the established construction plan and essential to the completion of the new pool, the city said in its update. Trees will be replanted as part of the project.
