Piedmont Language School to offer new Spanish classes for middle schoolers

Piedmont Language School is pleased to announce that we will be offering new before-school Spanish classes for Piedmont Middle School students in response to PMS no longer offering language classes until 8th grade.

The classes will be two days per week before school and taught by a native speaker from our partner Viva El Español.

We will offer a beginners’ class to familiarize students with the Spanish language, grammar, culture, and accent which will use the same text currently used by the PMS Spanish I curriculum.

We will also offer an intermediate class for continuing students who will follow the same text but at a more rapid pace with the option for the students to test out of Spanish I and take Spanish II in 8th grade instead. They would be able to take the Spanish II class next door at Piedmont High School while in 8th grade.

There are many advantages to students being exposed to language at a young age, and we are excited to get as many students learning Spanish as possible.

Both Piedmont Language School and Viva el Español are local non-profit organizations dedicated to giving Piedmont kids the benefits of Spanish.
