Person shot in Piedmont; suspect remains at large

From a Piedmont Police Department press release on Tuesday, Feb. 28:

On Tuesday, Feb. 28, at approximately 4:00 p.m., two people were engaged in a physical altercation on the corner of Boulevard Way and Crofton Ave. in Piedmont. During the altercation, the suspect drew a handgun out and shot the 30-year victim one time in the right wrist area.  Piedmont police officers and fire fighters were quickly dispatched to the area. The first responding police officer applied a tourniquet and rendered first aid to the victim.  The victim was transported to the hospital by PFD and was treated for his injuries.  (Piedmont police said on Wednesday that neither of the parties were Piedmont residents.)

The suspect is described as an African American adult male, mid 20’s, 5’ 6”, thin build, wearing a white hoodie, and gray sweatpants.  

The suspect was travelling in a car described as an early 2000s sedan, dark red in color.
