Carleton College sophomore point guard Luke Harris was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team in recognition of his work on the court and in the classroom.
To be nominated for this honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Harris, an economics major, is the top scoring point guard in the MIAC at 16.4 points per game. He achieved double-digit scoring in 20 of 24 games this season, including eight games with at least 20 points. His 3.5 assists per game rank fourth in the MIAC, while his assist-to-turnover ratio is sixth. Harris leads perimeter players in the conference and is fourth overall with a .558 field-goal percentage.
Harris advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot with first, second, and third team to be announced in mid-March.
