The popular family-owned Sliver Pizzeria has opened a new location in Montclair Village, right next to Peet’s Coffee on Antioch Court. Sliver, founded in 2013 by Cheese Board Pizza alum Willy Perez, now has seven locations throughout the East Bay. It’s known for its fresh ingredients and “no meat at all” ethos.
The Exedra popped in Tuesday night for a test run and “research” — the restaurant is technically in soft launch mode — and found a newly renovated, casual indoor dining set-up. While there is no pick-up or delivery option at the moment, you can find the store’s signature sourdough crust pizza of the day online and hang out for the 10 minutes or so it takes to make the pizza. (And yes, just like the Cheese Board, there is green sauce.)
While Montclair does have two other pizza delivery operations — Cybelle’s and Mountain Mikes — if you’re looking for an Arizmendi or Cheeseboard-style pizza option with indoor seating (and easier parking than anywhere on Lakeshore, Grand, or Piedmont Avenues), Sliver is where you’ll want to head.
