Give blood for the holidays

From the City of Piedmont on Dec. 16:

During this season of gift-giving, consider starting a new tradition of giving lifesaving blood.

Sign up for a Christmas Eve Red Cross blood drive hosted by the Piedmont Recreation Department, and spend the holiday knowing that your new tradition may give another the most precious gift of all.

Blood donations typically drop during winter holidays due to travel, illness, and weather — but the need for blood is constant. Volunteer donors are the only source of blood for trauma and cancer patients, accident and burn victims, people with blood disorders, and more.

Saturday, Dec. 24, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
