The Blotter | Stolen KIA Soul recovered

The Piedmont Police Department found a stolen KIA Soul unoccupied near Grand and Wildwood avenues on November 1. The vehicle had set off the city’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system at 2:43 p.m.

Officers located the vehicle at 3:01 p.m. A possible suspect was located a few minutes later. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, but he headed towards the Morcom Rose Garden. According to the police log, he began to run before he was detained. The suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, probation violations, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, being unlicensed and a felony warrant. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.


In the early-morning hours of October 29, a stolen vehicle was recovered on Downey Place. The call on the vehicle came in at 12:01 a.m., according to the police log. The vehicle stopped and two male suspects fled by jumping a fence. They were described as two Hispanic males in their 20s wearing ski masks and all black.
