Community support for the Piedmont Community Pool project continues to grow with more families donating to ensure that key elements of the City’s plan for the new Pool Center are included in the project. The Piedmont Recreational Foundation (PRFO) hopes to conclude the campaign by raising a total of $2.1 million. “We really appreciate the generosity of the Piedmont families who have donated to the Piedmont Community Pool Project Campaign. The success of this campaign is a tribute to our community’s commitment to our athletic and recreational facilities,” said PRFO’s President, Steve Collins.

The funds raised by PRFO will help ensure key elements of the project will be included. This includes funds needed for the competitive-size pool to be built at a regulation length and depth for water polo play and competitive swimming, a diving well with two diving boards, a scoreboard, timing system, sports lighting, and starting blocks and toe ledges. Funds could also cover three (3) standard-length lap lanes and a shallow area for play and swim lessons in the Activity Pool, and a poolside room for parties and gatherings.

Community members that make their donation by December 31st, 2022, will be included in the PRFO donor list published in local papers and will also be able to take advantage of 2022 tax deductions. Many companies offer end-of-year corporate matching, which can increase donor impact!

For community members who have not yet made their gift, a reminder – this is an instance where giving is more than its own reward! Every dollar contributed to the campaign directly benefits our community, student athletes, and our city.

PRFO encourages the community to visit their website at PRFO.org to learn more about the project and to make a tax-deductible donation.
