From the City of Piedmont on Friday, Nov. 18:
The City of Piedmont Sustainability Division invites community members to complete a brief online survey about their experience of compost, recycling, and trash collection services within the city.
This survey is an opportunity for residents, business owners, and property managers to help the City understand what works well today and where there is room for improvement. City staff will use the information gathered to target future improvements and to help shape public education and outreach initiatives regarding available services, waste reduction, and composting.
The survey asks community members about their:
• general satisfaction with waste collection services in Piedmont
• awareness of cost saving opportunities, including annual pre-payment discounts and onpremises service at curbside rates for physically disabled customers
• composting habits and understanding of waste sorting guidelines
• disposal practices for bulky waste items, such as mattresses, couches, and appliances
The survey is available online HERE and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. It will remain open through December 31.
The City of Piedmont entered into the current solid waste collection service agreement with Republic Services, Inc in 2018. The agreement grants an exclusive franchise to Republic Services for the collection, processing, transfer, and disposal of solid waste, recyclable materials, and organic waste in the City. The term of the agreement expires in 2028.
