Cold temperatures are in store for the region, with another round of rain possible on the weekend. The cold front that brought showers to the region on Tuesday and Wednesday is moving on, but could return to Piedmont and neighboring areas, according to the National Weather Service. Rain is likely by Saturday evening, which could see a low of around 49 degrees Fahrenheit and west to southwest winds of 5 to 8 mph.
On Sunday, a high of around 56 degrees is expected. Rain will likely abate during the day but return Sunday night and linger through Tuesday evening.
Elsewhere in the region, temperatures will dip near freezing overnight in North Bay valleys and the southern Salinas Valley, the weather service said. Daytime highs are expected to hover in the mid-50s next week.
