Andersen, Long, Ramsey prevail in City Council race

Updated on Friday, Nov. 11 with latest tally from Alameda County:

Betsy Smegal Andersen, Jen Long, and Tom Ramsey — two incumbents and a newcomer with planning commission experience — won their races for City Council seats by comfortable margins.

All three candidates held strong leads as early results came in through Tuesday night and into the early hours of Wednesday. With the latest County update on Thursday, Andersen now has 2,145 votes, followed by Ramsey with 1,823 and Long with 1,804. (You can view all Alameda County election results HERE.)

Polls closed for the 2022 General Municipal Election at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8. The Registrar of Voters  and Secretary of State will periodically update results on election night and in the days and weeks following the election. Results are not considered final until certified by the Registrar of Voters office, which has 30 days to do so.

  2. Congratulations to Betsy, Tom and Jen. Our current Council, Sara Lillevand and her staff have worked incredibly hard to see that the best of Piedmont is preserved while assuring that we are in compliance with State law and that outsiders do not take over and make decisions on the Housing Element for us. I am delighted that Piedmont voters have overwhelmingly endorsed this approach.
