Street sweeping returns as summer turns to fall

Every year the maintenance division of the city’s public works department publishes its September – February street sweeping schedule to help residents plan for leaf removal on their side of the street. Stopping debris from flowing into storm drains helps prevent blocked drains during the first rains of the season and also keeps the Bay clean.

Don’t let this happen on your street: A maintenance worker clears debris from a blocked storm drain in Piedmont Park after a heavy rainfall in December 2021.

Use this street-by-street sweeping schedule to help you remember when to move any cars parked on the street. (You won’t get a ticket if you don’t but it’s a neighborly thing to do.)
