Family Sanity to hold special event for parents of autistic teens and young adults

Do you have an older teen or a young adult with autism?  Are you wondering what their options are after high school?  Is having them live at home getting more and more difficult?  Do you want to know about special programs or schools for them? Are you wondering if there are services provided by your state that you should explore?

We will cover all this and more with a group of parents who have been down these roads.  It can be a constant challenge keeping on top of what is available for those with ASD and this special Family Sanity meeting is designed to help you. One of the participants will be Piedmont resident and Oakland therapist Liz Fitzgerald, who holds an MFT and is well versed in counseling families with autistic children.

Family Sanity is a parent support group for families with older children and young adults dealing with mental illness. Monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. via Zoom.  It was founded nine years ago by former Piedmonter (and current Oakland resident) Lisa Scimens.

Join this Zoom meeting on Monday, October 3 at 7 p.m.

Please go to our website: www.familysanity.org to register now.  Space will be limited to twelve parents.
