With the first day of the new school year arriving on Wednesday, August 10, the Piedmont Unified School District reminds families that the Witter Field parking lot and loop will be closed to vehicle traffic through Sunday, August 21, for drainage work and re-paving. Vehicles attempting to access the area via El Cerrito Ave., will be turned away at Jerome Ave. For the safety of pedestrians and to ease traffic congestion, please avoid the area and take alternative routes to your school.
The temporary closure includes the pedestrian gate at the north end of Witter Field’s bleachers. Students and families walking to school via El Cerrito Ave., are asked to follow posted directions and watch for cars entering and exiting the area.
PUSD employees with AA parking permits will be allowed access and be able to travel through the keycard gate (yellow arm) and up the hill as usual.
PUSD will inform the community when the parking lot and loop have reopened to the public.
