Interim Superintendent Dr. Donald Evans announced on Thursday that longtime Beach teacher Anne Valva has been hired as the new principal of Beach Elementary School.
According to the district, Valva has over 30 years of experience in education as a teacher, teacher on special assignment (TOSA), and currently, Math Intervention Specialist at Beach. She will replace Michael Corritone, who resigned in August to take a position as principal at Indian Valley Elementary School in the Walnut Creek School District. His last day was Aug. 19.
Valva’s hiring is expected to be approved by the school board at its Aug. 24 meeting.
