Special Guest David Hochschild

David Hochschild is the Chair of the California Energy Commission and will be speaking about California’s work on climate and how we can work towards the goal of a 100% clean energy future. Chair Hochschild is a key member of Governor Newsom’s energy and climate team with a background in the renewables industry. He holds the Sierra Club’s Trailblazer Award, the American Lung Association’s Clean Air Hero Award, and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Million Solar Roof True Champion Award. David is an engaging and informative speaker – it will be an excellent opportunity to hear about our state’s energy and climate efforts and interact with him and other active members of the energy and environmental communities, including California Environmental Voters’ Executive Director Mary Creasman.

California Environmental Voters

Since 1972, California Environmental Voters (formerly California League of Conservation Voters) has protected and enhanced the land, air, water, and health of all California communities by electing environmental champions, advancing critical state and federal legislation, and holding policymakers accountable for combating the effects of our catastrophic climate crisis. Their effective efforts, with a powerful focus on addressing climate change, are precisely why I’m proud to support them as a member of their Development Committee and Eco Power Caucus—their leading donor circle.

We can fix our climate problems by urgently stepping up our efforts with innovation and sustained reductions of carbon and other greenhouse gases. But to do this, we need to elect bold leaders who will work with us to champion these changes and then hold them accountable for solving the climate crisis in California. That is exactly what California Environmental Voters has been working to achieve, and you can support the organization by joining the Eco Power Caucus: EnviroVoters’ leading donor circle that elects climate justice champions, holds politicians accountable for solving the climate crisis, educates the public on the most pressing environmental issues and more. Members receive access to special donor briefings, a digital subscription to the California Environmental Scorecard, and invitations to events with California leaders throughout the year.
