Who’s that Good Dog?

Family: Elaine Lo, Bernie, Katie, and Emily Yu

Pet: Daisy

Age: 4 years

Breed: 50% German Shepard, 25% Pit Bull, 25% other

Adoption story: Our daughter Emily was lobbying hard for us to adopt a dog during COVID since we were home all the time. During the summer of 2021, we started looking through some of the local shelters and non-profits that had dogs up for adoption. We connected with a local group called A Girl’s Best Friend Rescue, a nonprofit organization that pulls dogs from kill shelters and rescues them from the streets. Daisy was already 3 years old and the right type of mixed breed we were looking for. We were supposed to foster her for 1-2 days but that was last August; she’s now a part of our family.

Likes: Daisy loves to go on walks through the various Piedmont dog runs and parks as well as play catch with a frisbee and tennis balls. She also likes to run and wrestle with her friends Gigi, Riley, and Winston.

Dislikes: Daisy does not like being left home by herself, like most other dogs. Because of COVID, there is always someone around. That’s something we have to work on with her.

Interesting facts: Most recently, Daisy had a run-in with a skunk in our backyard so she’s a bit smelly right now!
