Troop 1 brings back the Fourth of July Burger Stand

For many years after the July Fourth parade, Piedmont residents could look forward to juicy burgers brought to you by scouts from Piedmont’s Troop 1 — until the pandemic put a stop to this tradition. This year, we’re happy to announce that after a two-year hiatus, Troop 1 is bringing back the burger stand.

Traditional burgers, cheeseburgers, and Impossible burgers will be available for purchase for $8, with water and watermelon for an additional $2.

Buying burgers not only supports the troop, but also the individual scouts, who plan and prepare for the stand in the spring and learn important skills such as communication, time management, and safety. Running the stand on the Fourth is a whole troop effort — the older and more experienced scouts cook and flip the burgers, while the younger scouts carefully wrap them to keep them warm. After paying the friendly scout cashiers, customers can head to the pickup area where scouts hand off burgers, water, and watermelon.
