Temperatures in the Bay Area will continue to rise this week, culminating highs on Friday that warrant an excessive heat watch, according to the National Weather Service.
“The combination of warm nights and hot days will be most prevalent on Friday. This heat event is forecast to be fairly short in duration with Friday being the hottest day for the interior portions of the Bay Area,” a service forecast said.
Inland areas will be the most impacted, but Piedmont will have its share of hot weather with a daytime high of 85 degrees forecast for Friday. Warm weather will continue into Saturday before cooling to the low 70s on Sunday.
