Tracking COVID in Piedmont | May 17

Over 50 new COVID cases were reported in town since last week, according to the Alameda County Health Department’s COVID-19 dashboard. COVID case counts in Piedmont on Tuesday stood at 1,068, up from 1,011 one week ago. (Case data is updated daily but may change as the county reconciles its records.)

PUSD reported there were 50 student and six staff cases last week, a dramatic spike that prompted the district to send a note to families on May 10 recommending that students start wearing masks again in order to stem the spread.
