Piedmont Makers welcomes the School Maker Faire back to Piedmont High

Piedmont Makers is excited to host the 8th annual Piedmont School Maker Faire this Sunday, April 24, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Piedmont High School. The Piedmont School Maker Faire is a celebration of K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) education for the Piedmont community and beyond. It’s a show and tell that’s part science fair, part carnival and all fun.

This year, the School Maker Faire returns to the Piedmont High campus now that construction is complete and will be framed by the beautiful new STEAM building and engineering lab, and the new theater.

Roll up your sleeves and dive into fifty hands-on S.T.E.A.M. projects from Beach, Havens, Wildwood, Piedmont Middle School, Millennium High School, and Piedmont High School students along with creative projects from community makers.  Projects include hands-on Faire favorites such as Nerdy Derby, Air Rockets, Riveropolis, Cardboard City, and the Robotics Zone featuring Piedmont robotics teams.  Make sure to check out the UC Berkeley Seismology Lab, Troop 15 Monkey Bridge, and more.  Check out a full list of projects at www.piedmontmakers.org/2022-meet-the-makers/

You can get your free School Maker Faire tickets at www.piedmontmakers.org or use the QR code on one of the posters around town. It takes a village to put on our School Maker Faire so please consider volunteering for a couple of hours, signup at www.piedmontmakers.org/school-maker-faire/.

When all of that making gets you hungry, be sure to check out the first annual Food Fest right next door in Piedmont Park. It will be a busy day in town so please consider walking or biking. We can’t wait to see you at the 8th Annual Piedmont School Maker Faire.
