Even amid new reports of a COVID surge in China and Europe, the Bay Area’s case rates have declined dramatically and remain low since January’s highs. According to Alameda County Health Department’s COVID-19 dashboard, COVID case counts in Piedmont remain stable at 836. (Reminder that the county often adjusts numbers up or down as they reconcile their data every week so that number may change. This week’s number is actually one less than the 837 we reported one week ago.)
On Monday, PUSD reported a handful of staff cases and eight student cases last week. This is the first week PUSD has relaxed its indoor mask mandate. Masks are recommended indoors but no longer required.
