The Blotter | Woman in stolen vehicle apprehended

A woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin after being found in a stolen vehicle at Magnolia and El Cerrito avenues early in the morning on March 6.

Officers found the woman in the blue Honda at 3:22 a.m. The vehicle was missing its rear license plate. Officers determined the vehicle had been stolen and arrested the suspect. She was taken to Santa Rita for possession of the stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property and probation violations, according to Piedmont police Capt. Chris Monahan.


Worksite theft

On March 9, a report came in on an unknown black male adult in a black hoodie allegedly stealing two painting machines out of a work van on San Carlos Avenue. The suspect also allegedly stole a worker’s wallet from another unlocked truck.

The report came in at 11:24 a.m. The suspect fled the area in a 2003 black 2 1/2-door Chevy Silverado pickup, according to Monahan. The two painting machines are valued at a combined $1,800 and the total loss is approximately $2,000, according to Monahan.
