UPDATE: Piedmont Police said in a social media post on Tuesday night that “at 8:00 p.m. our investigators were able to positively identify and locate the suspect in this case. Kristina Tierney 33 years of Woodland, CA was arrested and booked at Santa Rita Jail for robbery, assault, criminal threats and violation of probation.”
A woman walking her dog was the victim of an assault and robbery, the Piedmont Police Department reported. The incident took place on March 1 at 8:30 a.m. near Dracena Park.
The woman was approached by a suspect described as a 20-30 year-old white female 5 feet, 8 inches tall with blonde hair, wearing a white T-shirt and a plaid shirt over it with black pants. The suspect assaulted the woman and took her phone, according to police.
She was reported leaving the area in a white Toyota SUV-type vehicle.
The victim’s phone was located in front of a house nearby shortly after the incident, according to a resident in the area.
On a social media post, Piedmont Police said, “Our investigators are actively working this case and have identified the vehicle using our ALPR (Automated License Plate Reader) cameras. That information has also led to the possible identity of the female involved. We do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time and anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact Piedmont Police at 510-420-3000.”
On Feb. 24, the city’s ALPR system alerted a stolen blue Dodge Ram 15 van going southbound on Boulevard Way at Warfield Avenue. The vehicle was located at the intersection of Oak Road and Park Lane. A stop was made and the two people in the vehicle were taken into custody without incident, according to Piedmont police Capt. Chris Monahan.
The two suspects were transported to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. The driver was booked for stolen property and parole violations and a warrant for possession of stolen property. The passenger was booked for the stolen vehicle, possession of narcotics, and a warrant for petty theft.
Early on the morning of Feb. 28, the city’s ALPR cameras identified a silver 2012 Volkswagen CC reported stolen from Oakland. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, parole violation, and possession of methamphetamine.
At 9:48 p.m. on Feb. 20, a report came in of a driver hitting a parked car on Alta Avenue. The male driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to Monahan. He failed a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and was arrested for DUI. He took a blood chemical test to determine his blood alcohol level and was transported to Santa Rita Jail.
On Feb. 23, officers found a vehicle parked near the intersection of Sheridan and Sierra avenues at 11:41 p.m. The subject was found to have a warrant in San Mateo County for a DUI. He was arrested and taken to Santa Rita Jail.
