Tracking COVID in Piedmont | Feb. 4

According to the Alameda County COVID-19 Cases and Deaths dashboard, Piedmont recorded 11 new cases since Tuesday, up from 716 on Feb. 1 to 727 on Friday, Feb. 4. After several weeks of dramatic increases every few days, city numbers now reflect the overall downward trend in the region. (Readers may notice that case counts on the dashboard may fluctuate up or down as the county updates and adjusts its database daily.)

On Thursday, Feb. 3, PUSD Superintendent Randy Booker emailed the school community to say that due to the downward trend in local cases he would lift the outdoor mask requirement for all students and staff starting Feb. 7. The state’s indoor mask requirements remain in effect.
