Registration is open for the Spring 2022 session of Piedmont Adult School. Classes will begin January 3, 2022 and run through June 4, 2022.
Free Career Technical Education (CTE) classes
Two new courses will be offered as part of Piedmont Adult School’s Career Technical Education (CTE) program. CTE classes are state-funded, and offered free to students. Apple/Mac Basics is a four-session class designed for the novice Mac user, and Introduction to Programming in Python is an in-depth, 36-session class that teaches the foundations of computer science and basic programming. The popular online Google Drive class will also be offered again this spring session.
New cooking classes, computer/iPhone classes and more!
Cooking classes are back, with a range of specialties including Curry Workshop, Dim Sum Workshop and Healthy Stir-fry Workshop. Other new class offerings include Tools & Techniques for Navigating Retirement, Organizing Your Junk Drawer, and Basic Thai Language. Several new computer/iPhone classes are offered, including iPhone 101, Discover Some New Apps, I H8 Pa$$w0rds, and All About Noting (Understanding Apple’s Notes App).
Free Thursday Drop-In Classes for Adults 55 and Over
Through the Adult School’s Creative Retirement program, free Thursday classes are offered to students 55 and over. Courses include Exercise for Seniors (9-10am), Fine Arts Media (10 a.m.-1 p.m.), and Needlework Drop In (10 a.m.-12 p.m.). These classes are held at the Veterans Hall, 401 Highland Ave., in Piedmont. No registration is required, and interested participants are welcome to just drop in.
Piedmont Adult School classes are open to all adults age 18 and over. Course offerings can be found at www.piedmontadultschool.org or through the Moonlighter catalog, which is mailed to households in Piedmont and surrounding areas. Registrations can be submitted online, by mail, by fax or by visiting the adult school office in person. (See details below.) Applicants age 55 and over are eligible for a $10 discount for regular adult classes, excluding seminars and special classes.
Piedmont Adult School offers in-person as well as online classes (the format for each class is noted in our catalog.) In-person classes will be held at Piedmont High School, and will follow the Piedmont Unified School District Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions.
