The Blotter | Drug arrest, auto burglary

A man walking in the vicinity of Grand and Greenbank Avenues in Piedmont was arrested and a substance found on the man tested positive for Fentanyl.

The man was stopped at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 when he was found sitting on a bench with a glass pipe and “residue” on his mouth, according to Piedmont Police Department Capt. Chris Monahan.

The white male told officers he had smoked methamphetamine, according to Monahan. A search turned up two clear baggies. One contained a white crystalline substance and the other contained a pink powdered substance, according to police. “The substance was later tested positive as Fentanyl,” Monahan said.

Officers found a California drivers license with a different name and various credit cards not in the suspect’s name. The suspect was booked and taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
