And the beat goes on: Four new cases reported over the weekend, bringing Piedmont’s cumulative case count to 274.

The PUSD dashboard, which reflects cases from the prior week, show three student cases and one transmission linked to school exposure:

On Tuesday, the AP reported that California’s coronavirus death toll was the highest in the nation at 70,132 but its per capita fatality rate of 177 per 100,000 people is lower than the overall U.S. rate of 214. The state now has the lowest per capita rate of new cases in the country, per KRON reporting Tuesday.

Unvaccinated residents of Alameda County continue to have more cases than their vaccinated counterparts:
