In the News | PHS alum draws on date rape culture of her youth in new graphic novel

PHS alum Maggie Tokuda-Hall was profiled in the Datebook section of the San Francisco Chronicle on Monday. In the interview, she says her latest graphic novel, Squad (Harper Collins), about teen-age girls who turn into werewolves to consume sexually aggressive boys, was inspired by the rape culture she experienced at Piedmont High School. Her book was released Oct. 5.
