A dry weekend through Sunday but rain to come

A Piedmont tree in all its fall glory

Cloudy skies with daytime highs near 64 degrees are forecast for the Piedmont area Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Through Saturday evening, temperatures are expected to drop as low as 56 degrees.

On Sunday, the weather forecast promises treats over tricks for those celebrating Halloween — a slight chance of showers is expected only after 11pm.

Rain is forecast for Monday, with precipitation of up to half an inch possible. Daytime temperatures closer to 62 degrees are expected, the weather service reported. The chance of rain will abate by Monday evening, with dry, cloudy skies forecast for Tuesday.
