Piedmont Adult School registration opens August 23

Registration opens Monday, August 23 for the fall session of Piedmont Adult School. Classes for the fall session will begin September 13, 2021 and run through December 19, 2021.

Classes are open to all adults age 18 and over. Course offerings can be found HERE or through the Moonlighter catalog, which is mailed to households in Piedmont and surrounding areas.

Registrations can be submitted online, by mail, by fax or by visiting the adult school office in person (see details below). Applicants age 55 and over are eligible for a $10 discount for regular adult classes, excluding seminars and special classes.

This fall, classes will be held both in-person and online. In-person classes will be held at Piedmont High School, and will follow the Piedmont Unified School District Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions. “We are delighted to return to primarily in-person adult school classes this semester, while still offering a few online courses,” says Shannon Fierro, director of Piedmont Adult School. “We have added a variety of exciting new classes, so we truly think there is something for everyone at Piedmont Adult School.”

New courses being offered this semester include Watercolor Fine Arts Style, Climate Change 101, Mindful and Positive Parenting, and a wide range of computer classes. An online course on using Google Drive will be offered free of charge.

Through the Adult School’s Creative Retirement program, special classes are offered to senior citizens (age 55 and over) at no cost. Courses include Exercise for Seniors, Fine Arts Media, and Needlework Drop In. These classes are held on Thursdays at the Veterans Hall, 401 Highland Ave., in Piedmont. No registration is required, and interested participants are welcome to just drop in.

Piedmont Adult School welcomes adult learners, age 18 and over, from the city of PIedmont and surrounding areas. The school exists under the banner of “Education for Life,” providing flexible instruction that responds to the diverse needs, interests, and learning goals of its students.
