As the surviving members of the St. John and Wooster families return home after the tragic car accident that killed John, Jill, and Claire St. John and Theo Emerson, friends and neighbors are showing their love and support by placing homemade hearts in front windows or other visible areas.

In a message posted to Facebook and distributed to parent support groups, friends of the family wrote:

“We all share the deep sadness for the tragedy that occurred to the Wooster and St. John families. So many people in our community want to show their support for these wonderful Piedmont families. We can all do this in our own ways with Mary, Fritz, Jane, Tim, Molly and Ryan. We are hoping that one way we as a community can show that our hearts are with the St. John and Wooster families is by posting home-made hearts in our front windows or places they might see them on a walk. We hope it will let them know that our community’s love and support is all around them.”
