The Blotter | Man wanted in Berkeley arrested in Piedmont

A man wanted for burglary in Berkeley was arrested in Piedmont in the early morning hours on June 5 after knocking on a door and asking to use the phone.

The suspect knocked on the door of a house on Grand Avenue. The resident denied entry and called the Piedmont Police Department. Officers located the man on Grand and detained him. He was transported to the police building and then to Santa Rita Jail. According to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan, he was arrested and transported without incident.

Juveniles found drinking after neighbors complain of house party

On June 6, a house party was reported to police by two neighbors. The first call came from a resident on Ricardo Avenue at 12:28 a.m. The report said juveniles were in the back yard. The homeowner was contacted and agreed to bring everybody inside. A second call came in shortly after. This time, police found “multiple juveniles” drinking, according to the police log. The homeowner was cited for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
