Honors for Piedmont athletes going on to play in college

The Piedmont Boosters hosted a recognition ceremony for the 14 PHS seniors who plan to continue their athletic careers in college. Boosters President Chris Hart wished all of the athletes and their families well, and PHS Athletic Director Bradley Smet shared the stage with various Highlander coaches in describing each of the athletes’ contributions over their high school careers.

The list of athletes includes:

Cal Barna, baseball, University of Hawaii

Greg Gately, lacrosse, Connecticut College

Rafaella Gomes, fencing, UC San Diego

Luke Harris, basketball, Carleton College

Alden Heske, lacrosse, Kenyon College

Gavin Horne, track and field, Pitzer College

Nakilah Johnson, basketball, Weber State

Ben Levinson, baseball, Macalester College

Andy Melian, football, Kenyon College

Aiden Mitchell, baseball, Menlo College

Makenna Thiel, tennis, UC Berkeley

Sadie Tschider, lacrosse, Smith College

Anjuli Turner, soccer, Pitzer College

Max Wagener, water polo, University of Redlands
