Fairyland reopens March 19

The beloved storybook theme park down by Lake Merritt opened its doors to the public on Friday, March 19 after being closed since December 2020 due to the Alameda County stay-at-home order.

Fairyland’s gardens, most play areas and sets, and animals are ready to welcome the return of families, but rides, puppet shows, and other live entertainment are closed until Alameda County reaches the Orange Tier. (This includes the four small rides: Jolly Trolly, Wonder-Go-Round, Anansi’s Magic Web, and the Flecto Carousel.)

The Cafe is open with a slightly limited menu that will expand by summer. The Big Pumpkin espresso bar will not open until October of 2021. The indoor retail space is now open. Visitors will be allowed to enter one social bubble at a time.  Online ordering and pickups are encouraged.

As always, all children must enter with an adult, and all adults must enter with a child.
