New member drive kicks off for local chapter of boys team charity

Mercy Brown Bag father and son project

Beginning February 26 and running through March 8, current sixth through 11th grade boys living in Oakland and Piedmont zip codes are invited to join the local chapter of boys team charity (btc).

The Oaks league was formed just three years ago by a handful of local parents, looking for a charitable organization for boys that would help forge community connections with one another and their families through service work. The local chapter offers many in-person and at-home volunteer opportunities, including Alameda County Community Food Bank, Friends of Sausal Creek (environmental projects), Operation Gratitude (for active military service people), several food and clothing distribution groups, and more. The boys (“teammates”) ban together with their parents (“coaches”) and attend league meetings focused on current events, mens health and personal growth.
