Rains soak Piedmont

Water rushed downstream from one of the falls in Piedmont Park

Although strong winds caused some minor damage locally, wet weather this week revived Bushy Dell Creek in Piedmont Park and brought some much needed moisture to city parks and local gardens. Oakland Airport received 1.69″ of rain from the atmospheric river that swept over the Bay Area Tuesday through Friday, according to the Bay Area National Weather Service.

City Councilmember Jen Cavenaugh gave a shout-out to public works staff who were up early clearing a downed tree in Dracena Park Wednesday morning:
