Letter to the Editor | Our kids have graduated — we still give

Both of our boys were educated and graduated from the Piedmont schools years ago and we still continue to give to the Giving Campaign and to the Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF). While there are many reasons to give, we will share two of ours.

PEF has been in existence for over 45 years with the mission of supporting and helping build a strong Piedmont education system for all of our children. When we entered the community, our two boys benefited from the previous generous PEF donations and PEF’s dedication. We value excellence in education. We continue to donate to PEF because we believe in the concept of ‘paying it forward’ like the families before us.

Our second reason for giving is that while the world is going through a terrible pandemic and very challenging times, it is more critical than ever that we dig a little deeper to support the future of all children in their Piedmont education. We must continue to build on our school system’s infrastructure during this time so that when our students return our schools are prepared to give them the highest possible level of education.

Together as a community, we can generate much needed financial support for our schools, both this year and in the future. Let’s look forward.

Please join us in donating to the Giving Campaign.
