Strong winds kicked in Sunday night around 11 p.m., peaking in the wee hours of Monday morning and rattling residents all over town. Peak wind gusts as reported by the National Weather Service showed winds as high as 57 mph hitting Piedmont.

Public Works responded to at least one report of a tree down on Cavendish Lane. (Thanks to Susan Petty for photos and report.)

As of 9:30 a.m. this morning, a PG&E map shows only a few non PSPS-related outages in Piedmont along Moraga Ave.

Winds continue to be a concern today, and the Red Flag Warning remains in effect for the East Bay Hills through Tuesday at 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service Bay Area.
