Piedmont firefighters head north to help with Glass Fire

Early Monday, PFD was requested to the Glass incident, and Engine 2841 headed for Calistoga to provide support rescuing residents and performing structure protection where possible. PFD responded along with Fremont and Berkeley.

A text from the crew later reported, “Working hard, A LOT OF FIRE!”

Fire Chief Bret Black noted that his crew is getting reports that some residents are ignoring evacuation orders. He reminded residents, “In a wildfire, if you can see/smell the smoke or fire, you should be immediately ready to evacuate. If you feel threatened by a wildfire, DO NOT wait for an evacuation alert or notice, LEAVE!”
