At the Piedmont Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23, the Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF) presented the Piedmont Unified School District with a check for $3,015,704.

These funds were the result of PEF’s tenacious fundraising efforts during the 2019-20 school year, including the most successful Giving Campaign to date which was a 14% increase from the previous year and made up of donations from a record 1,300 households.

PEF’s Executive Director Heather Frank, and the Co-Chairs of last year’s Giving Campaign, Nicki Gilbert, Emily Harrold, and Amelie Kappes, emphasized that PEF is not resting on its laurels: this year’s Giving Campaign is off to a strong start and community support for the schools is more important than ever in the midst of a pandemic.
