Letter to the Editor | Hilary Cooper can lead through tough times

I am writing to encourage my fellow Piedmont citizens to vote for Hilary Cooper for the Piedmont School Board. I was delighted to learn that Hilary is running for the School Board because I believe she is just the type of leader who can help our schools navigate through these challenging times.

Hilary has proven time and again that she knows how to work effectively with parents, teachers, administrators, students, and community members to achieve results for our schools. As a volunteer, she successfully led parent clubs, major fundraising campaigns, and most recently the campaign to pass Measures G&H. Hilary’s leadership and tireless efforts have helped raise over $10 million dollars for our schools.

I volunteered alongside Hilary while my kids were at Piedmont Middle School and Piedmont High School. I worked closely with her when I served on the board of the Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF) and co-chaired PEF’s Grants Committee. And I had the opportunity to observe Hilary’s inclusive leadership style when she served as president of the PMS and PHS parent clubs. Across these different contexts, I consistently found that Hilary considers all viewpoints and is thoughtful in making important decisions.

Based on my interactions with Hilary in various forums over the past eight years, I believe that she will continue to be a tremendous asset to our district as a member of the School Board.

Please join me in voting for Hilary Cooper for School Board.
