Dear Piedmont Community,
I served on the Piedmont Unified School Board as the PHS Representative and was the 2019-2020 PHS Associated Student Body President.
I had many opportunities to work closely with Cory Smegal and I am thrilled to be voting for Cory in my first election.
The first quality I noticed about Cory was her strong communication skills. She was the first to reach out to me and help guide me to what my responsibilities would entail and she never lost touch, even after the closing of in-person school and board meetings.
During School Board meetings, Cory was the first to ask presenters a question and reevaluate the information being shared, proving her thoroughness in her work. Cory always worked to acknowledge each accomplishment of our community. From school performances, to the extraordinary Giving Campaign, Cory made each member of our school district feel valued.
During these uncharted times it is important to think outside the box and Cory does just that. From working with her on the Red for Ed campaign and joining her in meetings with Buffy Wicks, I know that Cory will do whatever she can for Piedmont Schools while supporting the broader community. Cory also utilizes these experiences outside of Piedmont to discover new, successful solutions that inform her view on impactful issues for Piedmont Unified.
Her experience and passion for Piedmont schools truly stands out on the School Board and that is why I hope you will join me in supporting Cory Smegal on November 3rd, 2020.
