Uptick in thefts prompts Piedmont Police to remind residents of safety tips

Truly effective crime prevention requires addressing causes of crime and reducing opportunities for it to occur. In the last few weeks, we have seen an uptick in thefts, burglaries and stolen vehicles. Your Police Department is committed to crime prevention and we need your help. There are many things that Piedmont citizens can do to reduce the chances of becoming a victim. Below are a few safety tips for your cars, your homes and your personal safety.

C.O.R.E. FOUR

CAR | Do not leave wallet, purses, backpacks, etc.

ONESELF | Be aware of your surroundings

RESIDENCE | Employ the three L’s: Locks, Lights, Landscaping

ENVIRONMENT | Get to know your neighbors
