The Piedmont Education Foundation’s record-setting Giving Campaign fundraiser announced its three Co-Chairs for the 2020-2021 school year! Colleen Allan, Amelie Kappes, and Teebie Saunders will lead the community-wide effort to raise $3 million to keep Piedmont schools strong.
“Every school year it costs the Piedmont Unified School District roughly $18,000 to educate each student in Piedmont. Federal, state, and local funding pays for all but $1,700-2,000 per child of that amount,” said Kappes. “As a community, we are responsible for closing this gap–and each year Piedmont has stepped up and shown we are committed to doing just this!”
The Co-Chairs have been working throughout the summer to prepare for the Giving Campaign’s kickoff on September 1, 2020. An extensive committee of parents from all Piedmont schools is also on board to amplify the outreach of the campaign. Parent volunteers and generous community support are two more reasons why Piedmont schools are exceptional. #PiedmontProud
