The latest developments around the region related to the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, as of Monday afternoon include:
- The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors may approve on Tuesday an ordinance establishing administrative fines for violations of public health orders involving wearing face coverings, social distancing and gatherings. The ordinance would formally allow infraction citations to be given to those who violate COVID-19-related county health orders.
- The 20th year of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival will still take place Oct. 2 to 4, but not at its usual locations in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco as originally planned due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The festival, this year themed “Let the Music Play On” will instead consist of an online stream of “newly recorded performances, archival footage from fans and our archives, interviews, as well as the history of HSB,” organizers said on social media.
- Hayward’s COVID-19 Testing Center and weekly No-Contact Food Distribution program will be moving to new locations in August, the city’s Emergency Operations Center announced. Currently located at the California State University East Bay campus, the Testing Center will relocate to Skywest Golf Course at 1401 Golf Course Road, adjacent to Hayward Executive Airport. The new site is scheduled to open Aug. 3, with the last day of operation of the CSU center next Friday. The next Testing Center will maintain the same operating schedule, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

- San Francisco County: 6,022 cases (+90), 56 deaths
